LL Cool J and Canibus squash longstanding beef during Christmas concert in New York.

One of the most infamous and longstanding beefs of the 1990/2000s has finally come to an end.

LL Cool J and Canibus, who had been engaged in a feud since the late 90s, put their differences aside on stage at Hot 97's "Christmas in Brooklyn" concert featuring LL and Run-DMC Friday night. Canibus came onto the stage during Cool J's set as he announced the end to their beef.

"Had a lot of beefs in my life but sometimes we gotta be bigger than that, sometimes you got to take things to the next level, sometimes we gotta flip the script," LL Cool J said. "Yo, Canibus…I love you, boy... Your career is starting again, baby."

The beef allegedly started when Canibus somewhat took a jab at LL on his own song, "4,3,2,1." His verse opened with the line "Yo L, Is that a mic on your arm? Let me borrow that." LL was reportedly offended by that and asked Canibus to re-record his verse in order to remain on the song. 'Bis would change the verse up but a subliminal diss would remain in the final version with "I'm the illest nigga alive, watch me prove it / I snatch your crown witcha head still attached to it." LL Cool J would end up including a response to it with his own verse on the track. The single ended up having two different variations and would be the spark of numerous other separate beef tracks.
