KXNG Crooked says he's been in the studio with Dr. Dre recently, calls the beatsmith the G.O.A.T. of Hip Hop producers.

During a newly-released interview with Blurred Culture, Slaughterhouse lyricist KXNG Crooked shared the names of his favorite rappers and producers. He revealed that Jay Z, Eminem, and the late Tupac Shakur are artists that are consistently in his top 10 list.

The Long Beach, California rapper then went on to compare Em and Tupac. According to the wordsmith, Eminem is “one of the greatest wordplay artists” while Tupac is “one of the realest storytellers.”

He later commended Jay Z for being able to have his finger on the pulse of music at all times.

“Eminem to me is one of the greatest wordplay artists and rappers,” KXNG Crooked said. “And then I might say Tupac is one of the realest storytellers that can touch your soul. Rest in peace to my Uncle Leroy. He was a real collector of music. He didn’t really collect Hip Hop. He collected old jazz and bebop and old school R&B, 70s music. And when he died I went through his collection. And he had all the vinyls and crates and all that. And I’m digging through all his stuff. And do you know the only rap album I found was All Eyez On Me. And that just lets you know the magnitude of Tupac…Those three are very consistent in my top 10 list. Jay Z because he go from Blueprint to always [keeping] his finger on the pulse. Right now he still has his finger on the pulse of music.”

Later in the interview, KXNG Crooked moved on to his favorite producers. He revealed that Dr. Dre “is the G.O.A.T.” of producers and added that Timbaland is another producer on his favorites list.

Crooked also confirmed that he’s been in the studio with Dr. Dre recently, working, observing, and learning.

“Dr. Dre is the G.O.A.T. to me…A lot of people don’t know this, but I’ve been in the studio with Dre [lately],” he said. “And working and just observing and learning and talking to him about things. He’s gon’ always be the G.O.A.T. to me of Hip Hop producers. Just because he got three dynasties. I haven’t seen anybody in the game [with three dynasties]. Ruthless, Death Row, Aftermath. He was a major part of three dynasties…I gotta probably put Timbaland in there somewhere.”
