Salvatore Ferragamo and Captain Planet would make great friends. Mostly because of Ferragamo's eco-friendly initiatives, like the new line of bags, Eco Ferragamo. |
The
new line of bags will be made using a ecologically-safe tanning
process, according to FashionWeekdaily.com. Most tanning processes
involve the use of metal and result in the creation of pollutants, but
Ferragamo's exclusive technique makes biodegradable, water-resistant
skins dyed using tannins taken from tree bark. The procedure is
certified by the German institute SG - Mark, ensuring no
environmentally harmful substances have been used on the materials.
The line will feature five styles including a small tote, handbags
and a maxi hobo in a bunch of different colors. The bags will run you
from $1,190 to $1,890, and are slated to hit stores this February.
