Conde Nast or Conde Nada: The end of Men's Vogue |

Thank God America finally did something smart and elected Barack Obama as President! If we hadn't Conde Nast, publisher of fashion magazine giants GQ and Vogue, might have been the next huge corporation to tank. |
That's right Conde Nast has the potential to be Conde Nada!
According to the New York Observer's
secret source, Conde Nast publishers and editors have been told they
have to cut their staffs and budget by five percent within the next
couple of weeks.
How will they do it? Each mag will have to cut five percent of its
payroll by either laying off staff, eliminating open or unfilled
positions or a combination of the two.
Next, each mag has to cut five percent from its non-payroll budget lines, i.e. travel and expenses, meals, freelancers, etc.
Wait there's more! Each mag will have to do this twice; for the business side AND for the editorial side.
Men's Vogue apparently will have to do the most cutting. According to the Observer, MV will be "absorbed" into Vogue and only run twice a year, giving up its entire ad sales staff with Vogue business staff taking on the load.
When the Observer asked a Conde Nast spokeswoman about the companywide cutbacks and the future of Men's Vogue, she wrote in an e-mail, "At this time we have nothing to say."
