By: blazinstreetz.comPosted On: 10/15/2009 4:33 P

BlazinStreetz sat down with Wildstyle to see what he was doing in these streetz.

BlazinStreetz :How Long you been doin music?

Wildstyle :I been doing music basically all my life, I was pushed into it at an early age by my family. I been surrounded by music, its been a part of me since the beginning. I been doing talent shows since I was knee high from the age of 8. My uncle started me off playing drums around 6 or 7. Later on down the line I got into rapping, producing, breaking and djing. I actually started producing when I was 14 and I was djing when i was 12.

BlazinStreetz :Which part of music do you connect more with? Producing, rapping, breaking or djing?

Wildstyle :I Think Rapping more than anything and right behind it producing. I love Hip Hop, I love to hear wordplay and listening to stories. Rap is like learning Karate you got different techniques and styles. Its something you have to build on. I look at if from a whole other point. Producing is more second nature to me. I Love Hip Hop as a whole but if I had to chose, I would say rap.

BlazinStreetz :Why did you come up with the title of the album 'That Was Then This Is Now'

Wildstyle :It  was how I felt while recording. I came up with the album title to reflect on my growth. Being in the game for a while and putting out this material I wanted to separate from the old, so that's where the title comes from. I'll put it in a deeper scale. All of us at a point of time come to change.  A lot of people will try to keep you in a box. Say if you was a drug dealer dealer for instance. You was out selling drugs but now you stopped and you mature in the way you think. Even with all that done there are still gonna be people who want to hold you in that same box.  That's really what I was trying to capture with the title. As an artist, as a person, we all go through changes.

BlazinStreetz :Was the album solely produced by you?

WildStyle :Yes the producing is done all by me. I produced The Final Tic and I produced Good Side Bad Side. Every project Crucial Conflict's been on when we first got our plaques and selling millions of records worldwide was produced by myself straight from Chicago. On this album I isolated myself in the studio and produced the whole thing in 21 days. I didn't even plan on doing it that way. After crafting the first beat i just decided to stay in the studio knock out everything

BlazinStreetz :Are there any features on the album?

Wildstyle :Well basically i got a few artist but their all who I work with. Behind that I wanted people to hear Wildstyle. I wanted them to see what I could do on three verse and see how I could put in work. I hear a lot of artists albums with multiple guest appearances to help drive feels or to gain notoriety, but when you go to a performance you don't get the same effect when the song is play because the guest artist isn't there.
on my next project I'll have more features with producers and other artists. I know that I'm giving you a good ride as if there were other artist on the album though so I pride myself on that.

BlazinStreetz :Being out of Chicago who else from your city to you enjoy listening to?

Wildstyle :I been hearing a whole bunch of local cats that I'm waiting on to get they shine on, but I love listening to Twista, Do Or Die, Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, and Shawnna.

BlazinStreetz :Is there any chance that the world will get to hear another Crucial Conflict album?

Wildstyle :Oh yeah definitely. We all sat down and  want to drop this 2010:The Final Tic. We going back to the basic and give them that same Crucial fire on this one but take it to a different level. All of us separately are working on solo albums as of now but that's the next Crucial Conflict album.
