Jersey's Triple Threat

BlazinStreetz' 'Delaware' Neasman got the chance to kick it with Jersey's up-and-coming Triple Threat, Tash

Models, singers and entertainers in general are stuck-up and high maintenance people to deal with; at least that's the overall assumption. However in the case of New Jersey triple-threat, Tash, that is definitely not the case.

The 21-year-old singer, dancer and model is as down-to-Earth as can be. Tash is a rare case in the sense that she has the right mix of humility and confidence. She doesn't have an ego, yet has the drive and determination to fulfill her dreams. She wasn't however always positive that people would like her music. "When I first started, I didn't want people to criticize me" says the singer. "I was kind of shy about it." These days she's not worried about the criticism, but rather about starting her own movement and creating her own personal style.

Although she looks up to entertainers such as Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Solange, Tash wants to find her own niche and separate herself from the field. "It's very important to create my own lane; I'm more than just R&B," says Tash. Couture & B perfectly describes that lane. The model turned singer says "Music is it for me, there's no 'plan B'." Although she models, dances and considers herself a triple-threat, the Jersey girl says "There's nothing like being in the studio," and that's exactly where she's spending her time. With such a bright future ahead of her, Tash has already worked with some of the big names in the game. That list includes names like producer Kwame, production duo The Corna Boyz and songwriter Atozzio Towns. "Read My Mind" is an infectious Corna Boyz produced track that Tash ventured to Atlanta to record. "Jersey is cool, but a lot of times I have to travel out of town for music" she says.

Tash, who as a kid wanted to be a dancing doctor, was inspired to become an entertainer by her mother, who aspired to be a model and her father who was an R&B vocalist. "My parents played a big role in my career," says Tash, "they support me 100%." Not only does her family support her but so do her friends, who for the most part all want to become entertainers as well. "My circle is very tight and it helps that they're doing the same things as me," Tash says. Although extremely talented and quickly on her way to becoming a star, Tash doesn't let it go to her head. "I'm very random and quirky," says the singer, "the complete opposite of a diva." When asked what one thing that she absolutely loves was, the singer quickly replied "Easy Mac, I can hook up some Easy Mac!"

This budding star describes herself as charismatic, optimistic, energetic and funny. If there had to be one more word to describe her it would be eclectic. "I listen to everything from R&B to Electronica" she says. "I love J.U.S.T.I.C.E and Daft Punk." Even though she's concentrating on creating her own sound, Tash still enjoys listening to other artists. "I still buy albums," says the singer, "I embrace it all, my music as well as other artists'."

Tash is dreaming big and definitely shooting for the stars. In ten years she sees herself as the female Diddy. "In ten years I see myself with two Grammys and a clothing line." With her various talents and abilities, the support of her family and a good head on her shoulders, Tash is well on her way to becoming a household name.
