Converse x The Jimi Hendrix Experience Music Collection

By: sneakerobsession.comPosted On: 07/14/2010 1:57 P

The Converse Music Collection has paid tribute to a number of legendary artists and groups for the years past, including AC/DC, The Doors, Black Sabbath, the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd and Kurt Cobain. For their latest installment in the on-going series Converse pays their respects to the greatest guitarist to ever picked up a 12-string, Jimi Hendrix.

The Converse x The Jimi Hendrix Experience Music Collection features a lineup of Chuck Taylor’s carrying designs easily tied into the Guitar God and the British-American band he led to success. One pairs features a blue base with psychedelic graphics borrowed from the Experience’s second studio album, Axis: Bold as Love (1968). A second pair sports a black base with a orange, red-ish, side-profile shot of Jimi’s face, an image which appeared on Electric Ladyland (1968), the third and final album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience before splitting up. The third pair shown takes cues from the military style jacket that Jimi Hendrix was famously known for wearing during concerts, featuring a denim base with gold detailing to represent the straps on the jacket.
