Celebrated photographer David LaChapelle has filed a lawsuit against Rihanna over the imagery represented in her “S&M” music video, which he says replicates photographs of his.

The video, which was released earlier this month, has been a lynchpin for controversy due to the racy presentation of sex and bondage

LaChapelle charges that the video uses scenes “directly derived” from some of his pictures, Reuters reports.

LaChapelle has taken pictures for the likes of Rolling Stone, GQ, Vanity Fair and innumerable celebs.

The lawsuit says specifically that Rihanna stole eight images as well as the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting of his work.”

Rihanna has not commented on the suit.
