Autistic Rapper 50 Tyson Hosts Fundraising Walk For Autism

Internet rap sensation 50 Tyson has partnered with the Autism Society of Minnesota to participate and perform in the 11th annual Steps of Hope fundraising walk this Sunday (March 8th).

The 17-year-old, who has autism, has been involved in raising money and awareness for the condition, which impacts over 12,000 families in the state of Minnesota, while rates across the country have soared to 1 in 110.

50 Tyson, who gained his name due to his uncanny resemblance to rapper 50 Cent and boxer Mike Tyson, has a deal with Atlantic Records.

His videos have tallied more than 5 million page views on YouTube alone.

“I am excited to be able to do my part to raise money for autism research,” 50 Tyson told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “As an autistic rapper, it’s important that I demonstrate to other autistic individuals that you too can live out your dreams and not let autism slow you down.”
 
The Autism Society of Minnesota hosts an annual conference and workshops throughout the year, to keep families and professionals knowledgeable about autism research and treatment.

Over 1,500 people are expected to attend the 11th annual Steps of Hope fundraising walk, which takes place at the Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Registration for the walk begins at 9:00AM, while the walk itself will start at 11:00 AM.
