Rapper Common will host the inaugural gala fundraiser for his non-profit organization the Common Ground Foundation, in Chicago.
Rapper Common will host the inaugural gala fundraiser for his non-profit organization the Common Ground Foundation, in Chicago.
The Leadership Awards Gala & Fundraiser, which takes place on Saturday (April 16th), will celebrate a variety of women for their leadership roles in the community.
Cheryl Burton will host the gala, while Common will honor Dr. Maya Angelou, Keke Palmer, Dee Robinson Reid and Sherri Shepherd.
The gala fundraiser will include fine food, as well as a silent auction during the evening.
The Leadership Awards Gala & Fundraiser will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
Tickets to the gala costs $250, while a table of 10 goes for $2,250.
Common founded The Common Ground Foundation in 2000. Proceeds from the event will provide financial support to further the foundation's programs and goals to reach local communities across the United States.
