Rock City Parts Ways With Akon After Five Years and No Album

Rap/singing/production duo Rock City has announced they have officially departed ways with Akon's Konvict Records after a five-year stint on the label that produced no album.

Group members/brothers Timothy "Don't Talk" Thomas and Theron "Da Spokesman" Thomas released eight mixtapes and wrote songs for artists like Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Jennifer Hudson, R. Kelly and Akon himself.

Last year, Rock City launched the "PTFAO (Put The Fucking Album Out)" campaign, in an attempt to get Konvict Records to release their album for the label.

Akon, Don't Talk and Da Spokesman sat down last month to attempt to work out their difference.

All parties mutually agreed to part ways, allowing Rock City to release their debut album Free At Last on their own imprint, Rebelution Records.

Rock City's manager Ray Daniels is working with industry veteran Wendy Day to develop a strategy for Free At Last and Rebelution Records.

The first single from the album is titled "We On."
