Flav's Fried Chicken, Former Owner Sued Over Back Chicken Shipments

Flavor Flav's defunct fried chicken restaurant in Clinton, Iowa, has hit with a lawsuit by a food distribution company that claims they were shorted payment for food.

Iowa-based Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution filed the lawsuit in Johnson County Court, claiming Flav's Fried Chicken and it's co-owner, Nick Cimino, still owe $12,000 for past food shipments.

Flavor Flav opened Flav's Fried Chicken with Nick Cimino in January, but the restaurant lasted less than three months.

The legendary Public Enemy group member cut ties with Flav's Fried Chicken and Cimino, after employees claimed their checks were bouncing.

Both Flav and Cimino blamed each other for Flav's Fried Chicken's demise. But Cimino's comments could come back to haunt him in the lawsuit.

"I started this,” Cimino told The Baltimore Sun. “I put together everything from the menu to the color of the building to the sign. I did everything. What Flav's doing, he's a fraud. He doesn't want to be hurt with the other ventures he's doing and he wants to become a millionaire off my dime, off my ideas."
