Ice Cube To Raise AIDS Awareness By Contributing Autographed Art To Charity

South Central, Los Angeles emcee-turned-actor Ice Cube is doing his part to raise AIDS awareness. The onetime N.W.A. member has teamed with RareInk, a company that will reproduce and sell autographed Cube artwork, sending portions of proceeds to Los Angeles County AIDS and HIV support services nonprofit organization Minority AIDS Project.

"The series is something I’m really proud of and I’m sure other recording artists are going to want to get involved, both for their fans and their charities," said Ice Cube in a statement.

Two of the works incorporate staples of Cube's catalog, one paying homage to his solo debut, AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, and another to his hit 1992 single, "It Was A Good Day."

Eazy-E, who signed Ice Cube to Ruthless Records in the mid-1980s, died of HIV/AIDS in March of 1995. The pair were in N.W.A. together between 1986 and Cube's departure in 1990.
