Rodney King is back in the headlines, after he was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence yesterday (July 12th), in Southern California.

Police stopped Rodney King in Moreno Valley, after he allegedly committed multiple driving infractions in his 1993 Mitsubishi.

During the traffic stop, police became suspicious of his behavior.

He was taken to the Riverside Sheriff's office, where he was charged with DUI, although it is not known what substance he was using at press time.

In 2003, Rodney King was hit with DUI charges after he slammed his SUV into a utility pole, while driving over 100 mph, high on PCP.

In that incident, Rodney King suffered a fractured pelvis and cracked ribs.

During a press conference surrounding the 2003 car crash, Rodney King revealed he was launching a rap career and dropping an album titled Rodney King, The Living Legend.

In 1997, King founded the Straight Alta-Pazz Recording Company and released California Grindin' by rap group Stranded.

But Rodney King's biggest claim to fame is his videotaped beating by LAPD officers in 1991, that sparked the worst riots in United States history, after the offending officers were acquitted in 1992.

King won a civil suit and was awarded $3.8 million dollars.
