Logic inks a deal with the house that Rush built, Kid Rock thinks Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake overcharge, and Kid Cudi's "Indicud" gets reviewed.

This week, Baltimore, Maryland emcee Logic signed a deal with storied label Def Jam, taking the next step in his fast-rising career. Meanwhile, Kid Rock stirred up some controversy, calling Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake "Legends of the Summer" concert ticket prices "highway robbery." Finally, Kid Cudi's Indicud turns out to be "an ambitious project that Kid Cudi took a blind shot at."

Logic Signs Deal With Def Jam, To Work With No I.D. On Debut

The ink has dried, and Baltimore, Maryland's Logic has signed with Def Jam.

"I'm excited to take this next step in my career," he said in a press statement, revealing that he'll be working with EVP A&R, Def Jam Recordings No I.D. "It's incredible for Def Jam [Records] and Visionary Music Group to work together and the opportunity to collaborate with a living legend like No I.D. is priceless. I'm very humbled to be apart of the most iconic hip hop label of all time."

No I.D. will be executive-producing the DXnext alum's album. "Logic has a great future ahead and we are happy to have him at Def Jam. He has the talent to be a great artist and make a strong presence in our industry," said No I.D.

Kid Rock Calls Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake Concert Prices "Garbage"

Kid Rock is rarely one to bite his tongue. So when the rapping rocker, who charges $20 per night at his shows, was asked about Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake's "Legends of the Summer" tour, he didn't hold back. 

"It's garbage. It's highway robbery," said Kid Rock. "I don't care who you are. I would consider both of them in the circle of friends in the business, but I don't agree with it."

In the interview below, Kid Rock explains the steps he's taken to try and make the concert as affordable for fans as possible, which he says can cost him $50,000 to $100,000 per night.

Kid Cudi's Indicud Marks His Final Release On G.O.O.D.

After announcing his departure from G.O.O.D. Music, Kid Cudi has released his final album on the label, Indicud.

"Cudi's finest moments emerge when his convictions transcend any cryptic persona he's constructed (Mr. Rager, King Wizard, etc)," explains HipHopDX's review. "Over stout drums and a surging MGMT sample reverberating throughout "Immortal," he puts his daily concerns into perspective."

Ultimately, DX concludes that while Cudi's ambitions may have exceeded his reach, he does succeed. "Sustaining an imaginative disposition, it's fitting that the first words uttered on the album are, 'Once you realize you can do anything, you're free.' Indicud is an ambitious project that Kid Cudi took a blind shot at, and while by no means does he completely exemplify his immortal identity, he certainly makes a compelling case nonetheless."
