Chris Brown missed the Met Gala after his plane made an emergency landing when the cockpit began to fill with smoke.

The Met Gala saw celebrities and musicians of all kinds gathering in attendance earlier this week, including Miguel, Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, Pharrell and Kanye West. Chris Brown however, was nowhere to be seen. The R&B Singer was planning to attend the evening, but ran into some issues when his plane made an emergency landing after smoke filled the cockpit.

The smoke began to appear only a few minutes after takeoff, forcing the pilots to make an emergency landing in Burbank, California. "It was a lot of smoke ... everywhere,” a source told TMZ. 

The plane was able to make a safe landing, and no passengers or staff were harmed. 

Brown was able to board a flight to New Jersey one hour after his evacuation from the previous plane. This meant he would be unable to attend the Metropolitan Museum Of Art gala, but was still able to make it to the after party at the Boom Boom Room (and that's what counts right?).

Unfortunately this meant Chris didn't get to hear the new Kanye song, which he debuted at the event.
