The main behind The Strange Fruit Project has been expanding his solo career.

As reported by Complex, Grammy-Award-winning producer S1 (Symbolyc One) recently caught up with OutDaBoxMedia for an in-depth interview.

S1 is the main producer for Texan Hip Hop group the Strange Fruit Project and is part of The Cannabinoids production collective. In recent years he's developed his solo career in a big way, working with Kanye West, Beyonce and Erykah Badu, among others. He created the instrumental for the Strange Fruit Project's "Get Live" collaboration with Erykah Badu, as well as Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had." He was also responsible from Kanye's "Power" as well as he and Jay-Z's "Murder to Excellence." 

According to S1, he connected with Kanye through Rhymefest in the early stages of the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy recording process. Rhymefest played Kanye several S1 beats he couldn't afford for his own album, and Yeezy dug them so much that he flew him out to Hawaii the following day.
