UPDATE: Miguel's camp denies reports that he was explicitly told not to jump from the Billboard Music Awards stage. They say that producers knew of the stunt in advance to prepare cameras.

Miguel may very well be facing a lawsuit following his now-viral leg-drop that ended with the singer landing on a fan's head.

Now, TMZ reports that the singer was specifically ordered to not jump during his performance at the Billboard Music Awards.

The report states that Miguel asked producers before rehearsals if he could try to jump over the crowd during the performance, but producers said no, citing the dangerousness of the act.

Still, Miguel went for the jump, landing on Khyati Shah's head, possibly seriously injuring her brain.

Miguel has yet to respond to the report.

Shah and Miguel met backstage at the performance. where the fan was given an icepack to treat her injury:

UPDATE: Following Tuesday's reports that Billboard Music Awards reps warned singer Miguel not to jump, the RCA Records singer's camp has come out with a conflicting statement. "The reports claiming that Miguel was warned by producers not to jump are completely false," an unnamed source in Miguel's management told TMZ.com. The source added that Billboard's staff in fact inquired with the "Adorn" singer before the show, to confirm the stunt in order to prepare camera angles.

Next week, Khyati Shah and her attorney are awaiting results from neurological tests to determine if she suffered any brain damage from the violent collision.
