Kanye West's "Yeezus" outsells J. Cole's "Born Sinner" by only 30,000 copies.

Numerous album sales projections have been made over the past week in regards to albums from Kanye West, J. Cole, and Mac Miller, and earlier today official numbers were released.

According to Hits Daily Double, Kanye West’s anticipated sixth album, Yeezus, sold 328,000 copies in its first week while J. Cole’s sophomore album Born Sinner followed closely behind with 297,000 copies sold.

Other contenders who didn’t quite reach Cole and Kanye’s numbers included Pittsburgh spitter Mac Miller whose Watching Movies With the Sound Off sold 101,000 copies and Destiny’s Child songstress Kelly Rowland who managed to sell 65,000 copies of her fourth solo album, Talk A Good Game.

Much of the sensation surrounding Cole, Kanye, and Miller’s album sales began when J. Cole moved up his album release date to compete directly with Yeezus. It was initially predicated that the North Carolina rapper would only sell around 150,000 to 200,000 copies. That prediction was later raised to the 270,000 to 290,000 mark.
