The Cool Kids' Chuck Inglish Signs Deal With Federal Prism Label

Chuck Inglish inks a deal with Dave Sitek's Federal Prism label for his imprint Sounds Like Fun.

Sounds Like Fun founder Chuck Inglish recently announced that his label is partnering with David Sitek's Federal Prism (TV On The Radio), which is distributed by ADA. This formation should help Sounds Like Fun get their products to more outlets.

The first official project on the label will be Inglish's debut solo album Convertibles, the follow-up to his nine-track mixtape Droptops. His forthcoming album is a reflection of his time living in Los Angeles and his evolution as an artist.

Sounds Like Fun will serve as the avenue that Chuck's future creative projects, monthly parties, and more are released through.

Chuck Inglish made the decision to start Sounds Like Fun when faced with a turning point, he parted ways with his old label and was embarking on a solo career. Inglish is one-half of The Cool Kids (Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks), a duo that has released eight projects and toured worldwide.

"Creating Sounds Like Fun gives me a fresh start to finish what I set out to do in the beginning of my career," said Chuck Inglish in a press release statement. "Mikey and I had to deal with a lot of bullshit towards the end of our relationship with our label and we needed to clear our heads. A lot of people think we broke up or have bad blood but Mikey's my dude. I've always wanted something to call my own, to have my own factory, and Sounds Like Fun is the platform for all my ideas."

The idea and naming of the brand came to him while he was tripping with a good friend and took on a deeper meaning after she passed away unexpectedly, according to a press release.

The first official album that will be released under the Sounds Like Fun imprint Convertibles, will be Inglish showing his musical talents in a new way. Convertibles will be the first time Chuck plays a majority of the instruments on an album. He has produced for artists like Mac Miller, Rick Ross, and Asher Roth, among others. Mike Eizinger (Incubus, Big Boi, and Chromeo) will be the executive producer for his Convertibles project.

The Detroit, Michigan-native has continued to make 2013 a productive year. In recent months he has put on parties that include artists like Grand Hustle/G.O.O.D. Music emcee/producer Travi$ Scott, got interviewed by Cypress Hill's B-Real for BREALTV, and starred on FUSE's first scripted series "The Hustle". He is currently gearing up for a Summer European Tour presented by Mindfeederz.
