While some Hip Hop artists are apologizing for offending autism advocates, members of Brand Nubian and Lost Boyz are helping raise money for autism awareness.

It's been a big week for Hip Hop and autism. Yesterday, J. Cole apologized for lyrics that offended autism advocates on the "Jodeci Freestyle." Hours later, Drake followed suit, reiterating Cole's regret about the "offensive" line, “Go check the numbers dummy, that's just me gettin' started/ I'm artistic, you niggas is autistic, retarded."

While Drizzy and Cole both stated their apologies, other members of the Hip Hop community have announced a show next month to raise money for Autism Speaks. Brand Nubian's Grand Puba and Sadat X, along with Lost Boyz' Mr. Cheeks will perform at New York City's Stage 48 on August 17. Deejaying for the event are pioneering sound provides Brucie B & DJ Hollywood.

Tickets to the charity event may be purchased in advance.
