Danny Brown Criticizes Fool's Gold Records, Threatens To Leak "Old"

Danny Brown appears unhappy with the contract he signed with A-Trak and Fool's Gold Records, and he threatens to release his follow-up to "XXX." A-Trak responds assuring that "Old" is coming soon.

Veteran Detroit, Michigan emcee Danny Brown has received some of his biggest accolades while being signed to Brooklyn, New York-based Fool's Gold Records. It was there, in 2011, that Brown released acclaimed mixtape-turned-retail project XXX. He has also covered The Fader, toured the globe and appeared on major label albums since inking the deal approximately two years ago.

On Twitter this morning (August 12), Danny Brown expressed feeling less than a priority at the label that is also home to Run The Jewels (Killer Mike & El-P), Donnis and Grande Marshall, among many others.

"Man #OLD fuck around and never come out ... Smh," tweeted the emcee, referring to his forthcoming album, Old. The effort has been in discussion for over a year.

Last week, Brown was in the news for criticizing fellow Detroit rapper Big Sean's current proximity to the city he claims. Sean, a G.O.O.D./Def Jam Records artist responded, claiming that anyone criticizing that is "crazy." Yesterday (August 11), the pair squashed the issue, according to Sean.

Danny Brown affiliate Blu previously leaked his own planned-to-be-major label debut, No York in 2011. He was then signed to Sire/Warner Bros. Records.
