DJ Khaled talks about how he got Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, Diddy, T.I. and Meek Mill on "I Feel Like Pac, I Feel Like Biggie," off "Suffering from Success."

On Monday (October 7), DJ Khaled released "I Feel Like Pac, I Feel Like Biggie," likely off his upcoming album, Suffering from Success.

After the song's release, the producer spoke about how each featured guest contributed to the selection.

"When I made 'I Feel Like Pac, I Feel Like Biggie' me and Swizz was in the studio and I played Swizz the beat and I gave him a vision of who I wanted to be on the record," Khaled said in an interview with MTV. "Swizz came up with this hook: 'I feel like 'Pac.' That chemistry with me and Swizz was amazing when we were cooking that, but at the same time I couldn't have put just any rapper on that record so I put Ross, I put Meek and I put T.I."

"Ross is one of the biggest rappers in the game and one of the hardest gangsta rappers in the game and that's what Biggie and 'Pac was," Khaled continued. "And then you got T.I., another brother from the south who's one of the hardest rappers in the game and in and out of jail, going through so much shit. If you really look at T.I.'s story, he done been through a lot of shit, as well as Ross...Then you got Meek Mill, who has been through a lot of shit, and where he comes from, from a young age. If you look at his story, he's like a young 'Pac. Nobody's like 'Pac and Biggie. Nobody's sounding like 'em. I'm talking about the energy."

The song's chorus, performed by Swizz Beatz, references the lives and deaths of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.

"I feel like 'Pac," Swizz Beatz raps on the song's chorus. "I feel like Biggie / I'm feelin' like these hatin' niggas waitin' to kill me."

Tupac was shot and killed in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 13, 1996. He was 25.

The Notorious B.I.G. was shot and killed in Los Angeles, California on March 9, 1997. He was 24.

Both murders remain unsolved.

It has been reported that Ma$e criticized the song with an Instagram caption accompanying a photograph of The Notorious B.I.G. The caption said that The Notorious B.I.G.'s legacy was being hurt, though nobody was mentioned in the post. The caption can be read below.
