Cee Lo Pleads Not Guilty To Felony Charge Of Furnishing Ecstasy

In a court appearance today, Cee Lo pled not guilty to giving a woman ecstasy in 2012.

Cee Lo pled not guilty today (October 21) to a felony charge of furnishing ecstasy, according to TMZ.com.

The charges stem from a 2012 incident where Cee Lo allegedly gave a woman ecstasy without her knowledge before having sex with her, as per TMZ. If convicted, he faces up to four years in state prison, the site says.

Earlier today, it was announced that the Los Angeles County District Attorney cleared Cee Lo of sexual assault charges related to the same incident due to insufficient evidence, TMZ.com says.

“We are pleased that the Los Angeles County District Attorney has completed its investigation and concluded that the evidence did not support the false and unfounded claims made over a year ago," Cee Lo’s attorney Blair Berk said to TMZ.com.

Berk also said that any sexual contact between the two was consensual.

"As it relates to the one charge of furnishing or sharing ecstasy,” Berk said, “Mr. Green will responsibly address that matter in a court of law."

Cee Lo posted $30,000 bond and is expected to turn himself in to authorities for booking within 24 hours, as per TMZ.

The rapper-singer has another hearing next month, at which he must appear, the site says.

Even though he is facing a felony charge for furnishing ecstasy, Cee Lo will retain his spot as a judge on the television program “The Voice,” according to TMZ.com.

Mark Burnett, the executive producer of “The Voice,” told the site that the show will not change its line-up of judges this season and that "Cee Lo will not be fired," as per the site.
