Exclusive: Tech N9ne brings the winners of the "Monster Energy's Fan Fly-Away" on stage with him at the Kansas City stop of the "Something Else Tour 2013."

Tech N9ne and Strange Music teamed with Monster Energy for "Monster Energy's Fan Fly-Away.” The contest winners were Katie and Eric Brown Jr., who were flown from the San Francisco Bay Area to Kansas City for the Kansas City stop of the “Something Else Tour 2013,” where they joined Tech N9ne on stage and got to see him receive his gold plaque for “Caribou Lou.”

“These people wanna buy your records, and then wanna come to your shows,” Tech N9ne said after his Kansas City performance during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. “These people want to go put tattoos on them because they feel your heart and they feel your soul through your music. These people started doubling and tripling, quadrupling. I remember not having anybody in the crowd. Fans paid attention to my story and they connected. They made it possible for the gold fucking records to come out on that stage tonight. And I told them, ‘You did this.’”

As part of their prize, both Katie and Eric talked with Tech N9ne at the Meet & Greet before the concert. “Just meeting him right now, we got to see him at the end of the line,” Katie said. “He was just as juiced as when he seen the first person. He was excited for us. We expected [it to be], ‘Ok, yeah, we're gonna fly you out, put you in a shitty hotel, let you come to the show. You're gonna say, “Hi. Bye,” and you're gonna watch in the back row,’ and it's been nothing like that.”

Eric said he was thrilled that he and Katie were able to go on stage during Tech N9ne’s performance. “We was just on stage,” Eric said. “That's one of my mothafucking dreams, Monster, Tech N9Ne, Strange Music, and HipHopDX, let's never forget it, for real.”

Tech N9ne has made a point to interact with his fans throughout his career. “They made it possible for us to build Strange Music,” he says, “now made it possible for us to build Strange Land.”

In the video below, Travis O’Guin, founder of Strange Music, gives a tour of Strange Music’s new offices.

“We've actually expanded a little bit, maybe a lot a bit,” O’Guin says. “We actually just finished this building here. It's another 18,000 square foot facility, where we ended up putting all of our video editing offices. We have a variety of offices, pre-production, really nice kitchen. So, this is just another expansion on what the fans of Strange Music and of Tech N9ne and all of the other artists--this is what you guys built.”

Tech N9ne’s Fans Are Loyal & Connected To His Music
The "Monster Energy Fan Fly-Away" is one way Tech N9ne wanted to show his appreciation to his fans. "This was beautiful," Tech N9ne says. "I always enjoy meeting my fans. I look forward to working with Monster to give back more to my ultimate fans later this year."

After the "Something Else" concert in Kansas City, Eric and Katie said that winning "Monster Energy Fan Fly-Away" was a surprise.

“Where we're from, never except this shit to happen,” Katie said. “And the fact that it did, it’s like there's always a positive part of life. There's always something to look forward to. And because of stuff like this, it makes the next day easier.”

“Don't ever forget it, what you dream for, sometimes it can happen,” Eric added. “Monster, Tech N9ne, Strange Music, I love all ya'll.”
