MC Hammer's financial woes continue, as the feds seek back taxes.
MC Hammer allegedly owes the federal government nearly $800,000 in back taxes.
TMZ reports that the feds have sued Hammer and his wife, alleging that they failed to pay $798,033.48 in taxes in 1996 and 1997.
This isn't the rapper's first sign of legal trouble, as Hammer originally filed for bankruptcy in 1996 after accruing $13 million in debt. His well-publicized financial troubles culminated in the sale of his mansion for a significantly reduced price. He admitted using most of his $20 million fortune in 1997. Hammer also faced obstruction charges in California earlier this year, but they were dropped.
Hammer also made headlines in 2010 when he took offense a Jay Z lyric from Kanye West's "So Appalled," resulting in a diss track from Hammer.
