Dave Chappelle Makes Surprise Appearance At "Hip Hop For Tots" Event

Dave Chappelle appeared at a "Hip Hop For Tots" concert that featured Blaq Poet, Reef the Lost Cauze and Shabaam Sahdeeq.
Dave Chappelle made a surprise appearance at a “Hip Hop For Tots” event at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, New York yesterday (December 22). Put on by Battle Axe and Joe Slagel, the show featured Blaq Poet, Reef the Lost Cauze, Shabaam Sahdeeq and Spit Gemz, among others.
Reef the Lost Cauze says he was watching Shabaam Sahdeeq perform in the venue's main room when one of his friends spoke to him. "I'm standing by the bar and my boy goes, ‘Yo did you see Dave Chapelle just standing here watching the show?'" Reef the Lost Cauze says during an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. "I'm like, ‘What? Gtfoh.' I dart out to the hallway just in time to see him going into the other room where the comedy show is. He goes on stage and destroys, off the top, for damn near an hour. And he asked me for a cig on stage. I handed it to him and he said, 'Nigga..a Newport 100?? That's the blackest shit I've seen in my life.’ Then he came outside and takes pics and is the coolest dude ever."
On his Instagram page, Reef the Lost Cauze also wrote about meeting Chappelle. "Met an idol and icon tonight!" his Instagam post says. "Incredible set, unrehearsed and unexpected. And he asked me for a cig on stage, I handed it to him and he said "Nigga..a newport 100?? That's the blackest shit I've seen in my LIFE!" LOL amazing night. Thank you Mr. Chappelle."
