50 Cent Says Jay-Z's Image is Contradictory

The fallout from the infamous Kanye West/Taylor Swift debacle has yet to come to an end even weeks after the 2009 MTV Music Awards. This time, the incident has two of Hip Hop's largest figures taking swipes at each other.

In an interview with the BBC in September, Jay-Z was asked if he thought Kanye West would have crashed MTV's stage if 50 Cent was the one accepting the award. "No one is scared of 50 Cent," Jay responded, and expressed his belief that 'Ye would have gone onstage anyway.

Later, 50 Cent responded to the comments, saying that the interviewer made Jay-Z feel like a punk, and that Jay was "the coolest punk in Hip Hop."

Although the tension that the remarks have created between the two seems to have blown over, 50 Cent was asked to speak on the issue again during an interview with Complex magazine recently. When asked if he thought Kanye West would have interrupted his acceptance speech at the MTV Awards show, 50 assured, "He wouldn't. You can't convince the public, you can't convince Kanye to say he would've did that. If I was there and he did that to me, we would have had an altercation. Right there. It's clear. [Kanye] would have avoided that, just being intelligent."

Fif also had a bit to say about what he believes is Jay-Z's conflicting public image. "[Jay-Z's] presentation is really simple and you can't have both. You can't be gangster Jay from Marcy and be the good guy Jay-Z on Oprah. You just can't. They don't let you in. That's Mr. Knowles. He just got that pass. There ain't any tickets to an inauguration ball with niggas. If you're from the hood, you have that element or that aura around you. There's no tickets for you. It's 'safe' people there. This is why those things are happening. This is why he has to convince the person that he's talking to he's not afraid of anyone."
