CC Sabathia joins Kevin Durant, Geno Smith and Robinson Cano, among others, on Roc Nation Sports' roster.
Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports has added New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, The deal is meant to have Roc Nation represent Sabathia on and off the field, according to ESPN.
"CC exemplifies everything Roc Nation looks for in an athlete and a partner," Roc Nation Sports president Juan Perez said about the deal in a statement to the ESPN network.
Roc Nation's verified Twitter account posted a photograph of Sabathia signing a contract next to Jay Z.
Sabathia has at least three years left on his contract as a pitcher for the New York Yankees. ESPN reports that Jay Z and Roc Nation are slated to negotiate Sabathia's new deal when his current one is up. Sabathia, one of three New York-based athletes on the Roc Nation roster, was formerly represented by Legacy Sports Group.
Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports also represents Geno Smith, Victor Cruz, Robinson Cano, Kevin Durant and Skylar Diggins.
