(June 24) Rick Ross says he does not fear for his life and explains why he could not enter the "Summer Jamz" concert venue.

Rick Ross denies being confronted at a recent concert and says he is not in fear of his life being threatened, according to TMZ.

Ross was reportedly denied access to Hot 107.5's Summer Jamz event Saturday (June 21) by a human blockade of more than 100 people. However, Ross now says that the gates to the entrance of the venue were locked.

Hot 107.5's program director Jay Hicks told the Summer Jamz crowd the following regarding Ross's absence at the show on the night of the event:

“I'm going to be real with y'all; I'm going to be real as fuck. We had Rick Ross right outside here tonight," Hicks said. "At about 11 o’clock, when he was pulling up to come into Chene Park, he was met by 100 individuals outside. We have tried to pull every resource together and asked him to come back. He is in fear of his life.”

Ross says that somebody is lying about the matter.

"Somebody is deceiving the people of Detroit like [former Detroit mayor] Kwame Kilpatrick did," Ross says, according to TMZ.

Yesterday (June 23), Chene Park issued the following statement regarding the incident.

"Reports from our venue operations and security teams indicate as a result of between 100-150 individuals lead by a local rapper, prevented and threatened to harm Ross if he entered the grounds to perform at Chene Park Amphitheater," the venue said. "The band of individuals orchestrated a human blockade around the service entrance to the venue – preventing Mr. Ross and his entourage from entering the premises. A decision was made from Mr. Ross’ team the conditions were becoming threatening and posed a security risk."
