Snoop Dogg says there would be less depression and less homelessness if Barack Obama were to legalize marijuana.

In anticipation for the release of the movie “The Culture High,” executive producer Bianca Barnhill recently moderated a conversation between Snoop Dogg, Method Man, Redman and B-Real. As part of the first episode of “Spark The Conversation,” the rappers discussed the legalization of marijuana in the United States and whether or not President Barack Obama will sanction the drug before the end of his Presidency.  

“He can’t do it because he’s a Black man,” Snoop Dogg says of Barack Obama legalizing marijuana. “He gotta let the White face do that. Because they already villainizing him for what he’s done already which is cleaned up all that bullshit that [George W.] Bush did. Bush fucked the whole country up and cuz had to restore order and get it back right in the war, save some lives, do a few things and tweak some money to get the depression over with. We was in a depression, remember that. Niggas don’t ever give him credit for what he did as far as cleaning up this nigga’s mess of eight years of bullshit. So he gotta allow the next President to come in to do that move, but he set it up. He alley-ooped it.”

Snoop Dogg and B-Real then engaged in a back-and-forth conversation about whether or not Barack Obama will legalize marijuana federally before the end of his term that is scheduled to finish in 2016. The former said that if the President were to do so “there would be more jobs and less homelessness.”

“Me myself, I always thought that he would [legalize marijuana] before his term is done,” B-Real says. “Every President has a certain amount of things at the end of their Presidency that can’t be reversed.”

“He already had 15 to 20 real niggas walk in The White House,” Snoop Dogg continues. “He broke the rule already with that. Niggas shot basketball, caught passes, barbecued, everything up in that muthafucka [laughs].”

B-Real continues: “I think maybe he will though. I think he won’t be afraid to push that button…”

“If he were to do that there would be more jobs, there would be more money, there would be less depression, there would be less homelessness if he was to do that,” Snoop Dogg affirms.  

New Jersey emcee, Redman also weighed in on the debate by asserting that there’s proof that Snoop Dogg’s aforementioned advantages of marijuana have flourished in the states that have already legalized the drug, including Colorado.  

“There’s proof in the other states that’s doing it now,” Redman says.

B-Real finished by saying, “I think he will [legalize marijuana]. It won’t be right now, but I think on the way out he will. [In] the last six months. I think so.”

Finally, the four emcees and mediator Bianca Barnhill spoke about the medical uses of marijuana, subsequently referencing the case of Charlotte Figi, a young girl suffering from Dravet Syndrome who was having 300 seizures a week, according to an article published on CNN. This number was later reduced to two or three times per month due to a strain of marijuana low in Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) but high in Cannabidiol (CBD). The said story defined Dravet Syndrome as “a rare, severe form of intractable epilepsy.”

“The Culture High” is scheduled to premiere in Los Angeles this Saturday (October 11), at the Arena Theatre at 6pm. The movie is set to feature Sir Richard Branson, Snoop Dogg and comedian Joe Rogan, among others.

Earlier this year, Wiz Khalifia, who is also slated to appear in the movie, offered his thoughts on when he believes marijuana will be legalized in America.
