The Chicago Drill architect also speculates on the Windy City's next to blow.

Warner Bros.-signed producer Young Chop said that he learned a lot working on Puff Daddy’s upcoming project, according to XXL.

Young Chop, who unleashed the free album Still last week, says that he is still the same person, and that mainstream radio success “was so 2012.”

When asked if he plans to follow up his appearance on Yeezus with some tracks on Kanye West’s forthcoming project, Chop says, “We shall see.”

Young Chop says that his experience recording with Puff Daddy allowed the 20-year-old beatsmith to collaborate with many songwriters and producers.

“That brought a whole new thought process to what I’m doing,” Young Chop says. “Like, ‘Ah, damn, that’s what I was missing. I was missing that, I was missing this. Alright cool, let’s go get that.’”

Young Chop rose to prominence at the age of 17 alongside Chief Keef. In the past three years, Chicago has had a slew of young artist rise to paid gigs within the music industry. Young Chop says has feels great about the scene.

“I love it,” Chop says. “We got the Tinks. We got the Lil Bibbys, you feel me? I just love it. We got the [Lil] Herbs. Durk is killing it. There’s nothing else that I can say. I’m just proud of them because me and [Chief] Keef started from nothing. We were in the basement of the apartment really just kicking off the whole movement. Just to see everybody just go crazy like that, I’m like, ‘Damn.’ Not to say [just] me and [Chief] Keef but the whole GBE put the stamp on the city. Like, [we made it] possible to get signed and do it in our own way.”

Young Chop, who said in a July interview with HipHopDX that, “I don’t even know what Drill Music is," said that Coke Boy artist Lil Durk and recent Interscope signee Tink have what been working hard in the business.

“I think Durk,” Young Chop says. “Durk right now, he focused. He’s real focused. He want it so bad. He always did. He’s always been like that, ever since we were growing up. It’s between Durk and Tink.”
