Minaj addresses alleged Nazi iconography in "Only" lyric video.

Young Money emcee Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to address the recent controversy surrounding her latest lyric video “Only.”

“The artist who made the lyric video for ‘Only’ was influenced by a cartoon on Cartoon Network called ’Metalocalypse’ & ‘Sin City,’ ” Nicki Minaj said in the first of a series of tweets. “Both the producer, & person in charge of over seeing the lyric video (one of my best friends & videographer: A. Loucas), happen to be Jewish…I didn’t come up w/the concept, but I’m very sorry & take full responsibility if it has offended anyone. I’d never condone Nazism in my art.”

As of printing the “Only” lyric video is still available.

The lyric video director Jeff Osbourne took to Myspace to address the Nazi allegations.  

"First, I’m not apologizing for my work, nor will I dodge the immediate question," Osbourne says in a statement. "The flags, armbands, and gas mask (and perhaps my use of symmetry?) are all representative of Nazism."  

In a press release issued yesterday (November 10), the Anti-Defamation League said they were “deeply disturbed disturbed by Nazi imagery” in the Minaj’s lyric video.

HipHopDX reported yesterday that requests had been issued for the video to be taken down due to perceived racist imagery.
