will.i.am & Slick Rick Partner For Limited Edition Sunglasses Collaboration

“ill.i x Slick Rick represents our vision for the next level of fresh, fly and classic eyewear,” Slick Rick says.
will.i.am and Slick Rick have partnered to create limited edition, unisex sunglasses, according to AllHipHop.
The eyewear, set to be included in ill.i Optics’ 2015 Spring/Summer range, comes in three different variations.
The publication reports that the glasses were designed in Los Angeles and subsequently handmade in Italy. In addition, the singular exclusive style is reportedly set to be released on March 20 via the ill.i.am website.
The capsule style will retail at $340.
“Music and fashion have always been parallel, and both are my true passions,” Slick Rick says through a statement published to the ill.i.am website. “ill.i x Slick Rick represents our vision for the next level of fresh, fly and classic eyewear.”
In addition, the website describes the collaboration as a meeting of “past, present and future.”
“The ill.i x Slick Rick collaboration draws inspiration from vintage silhouettes and classic Hip Hop aesthetics in a way that is both progressive and timeless, resulting in unparalleled style that brings together past, present and future,” the website says.
ill.i Optics is a partnership between will.i.am and designer Graz Mulcahy. AllHipHop reports that the “ill.i x Slick Rick” range will be the first of a series of ongoing artist collaborations.
