Ralph Lauren says Kanye West's comments were "very cool."
Ralph Lauren has responded to Kanye West saying that Sway Calloway's clothing line "ain't Ralph level" during one of the most talked-about interviews that took place last year.
During the Shade 45 interview, Sway asked why West needs major backers for his clothing line. When he mentions his own attempts to establish brands "at a smaller degree," West responds: "It ain't no Ralph, though. It ain't Ralph level."
When this is explained to Ralph Lauren by Style's Dirk Standen, Lauren says he's flattered.
"That’s very cool," he says. "Well, that’s great. If I were to cater to Kanye, he would know that I’m catering to him. The fact that I make what I make—he gets it. He gets the quality and he respects it. And I think that’s the key, why I work all the time is to do that. That’s the fun."
