Common also describes Destiny as a groundbreaking, new chapter in gaming.

Chicago native Common attended the official launch for the video game Destiny this past Monday (September 8), in Seattle.

Speaking on the red carpet prior to the event, the Artium/Def Jam Recordings artist pointed to Nas and Jay Z as his ideal companions for his own, uniquely assembled “Fireteam.”

According to Destinypedia “A Fireteam is a small squad composed of two to three players, intended to make combating enemies and completing tasks easier than when playing solo.”

“For my Fireteam, I'd like to have artists like Nas, he's legendary, classic; and someone like Jay Z, we'd make a great Fireteam,” Common says.

Common later affirmed his enthusiasm about the newly released sci-fi game saying, “This is about Destiny, I'm excited to be a part of this groundbreaking, new chapter in gaming.”

Common was joined by a number of other celebrities including, Joe Manganiello, Lance Reddick and Earl Thomas of the Seattle Seahawks.

Following the event, Common took to Twitter to congratulate Bungie, the developers of the game, on a “dope” release.
