Mike WiLL Made-It Discusses Upcoming Jay Z Collaborations

By: hiphopdx.comPosted On: 09/18/2014 12:31 P

Mike WiLL says Jigga respects the work he's been releasing. The two are working on several tracks, he says.

Mike WiLL Made-It and Jay Z, who connected for "Beach Is Better" off last year's Magna Carta...Holy Grail, have been crafting new material, according to the producer.

"Me and Jay, it’s nothing really specific," Mike WiLL says in an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. "We just workin’. He’s talented…He’s a legend. He’s a great. At the same time, I grew up listening to him and he’s respecting the work that I’m putting out.

"I’ve been sending him tracks," Mike WiLL continues. "He’s been recording to them. He’s been telling me to put some stuff to the side. We don’t really know where it’s gonna land. Really, we’re just doing it for the art. Wherever it ends up landing, it ends up landing."

Mike WiLL couldn't divulge information regarding where the music would be placed, but recent reports indicate that Jay Z has been working on a joint album with his wife, Beyonce. As reported September 16, DJ Skee said he has confirmation from more than one source regarding the potential Jay and Bey collaborative set.

“The biggest couple in music, maybe entertainment, maybe the world, they’re working on an album together,” Skee said. “You know who I’m talking about, Jay Z and Beyonce. I have confirmed and talked with a couple sources. Now we all know what Jay Z did Samsung last year. We all know how Beyonce came out of nowhere. But this secret would top all of them, even that new U2 album.”
